Originally scheduled for June 13, 2012 at the Brown Palace Hotel & Spa, the Denver Passport Party didn't actually go down until July 16, 2012...and not at Brown Palace. *Sigh*

You see, I got crazy sick while on holiday so getting back on a plane to speak at TBEX and then host a global awareness party with a group of teen girls was out of the question. Ultimately I was able to re-schedule The Denver Passport Party at SAME Café, an organic pay-what-you-can restaurant where I had hoped to volunteer but instead was lucky enough to book for the girls from Smart Girl. #howsmart

And while I could go on and on about the great work that husband and wife team Brad and Libby Birky do at SAME Café, I also want you to know that Abigail, the concierge at Brown Palace, was kind enough to provide me with complimentary transportation to SAME Café when I came to collect the Passport Party Project supplies that had been stored in the hotel since early June. She didn't have to do it and I genuinely appreciated the help...particularly since this time I was traveling solo and didn't have any travel blogger volunteers to help me out. #grateful
And while all of the girls were winners and took home a Passport Party Project bracelet, a travel-themed cupcake and a whimsical airplane ring (pictured up top and available here), the winner of Best Travel Vision Board won an EXO Spinner from The eBags Brand; the winner of Best Passport Photo won The Bamboo Dance from Hartlyn Kids; and the winner of the Cupcake Eating Contest won a map necklace from Paper and Place. Oh how I love giving things away! #sponsorsrockClick here to see all of the photos from the day and then check out the press we got from the Denver Post. Enjoy...and be safe out there!
Next stop: The New York Passport Party will take place in two weeks at the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Art!
